Well make sure you come in the right door, otherwise you are treated like a lemur. After the seating fiasco was over our order was taken promptly, however we didn't receive our lunch till half an hour later. When I finally arrived the entire chicken sandwich tasted like relish, the chips that came as a side seemed stale, and the end result was I ate my chicken from the sandwich and sent the rest back. PS I was starving and couldn't even finish my food-that says a lot!

Great french onion soup, the cheese was perfect and the soup was perfectly salted, the house salad is so good they use mixed greens candied walnuts and wonderful dressing. My bf had the fish tacos and loved the uniqueness if all the flavors.

Awesome place, service was pretty good. The food was stellar! I would have to say that it's the best in the village, right next to PlumpJack. If you are in the village, try out 22.

Came in here for happy hour because It's literally a stone throw away from my house. Some friends and I enjoyed much of the happy hour menu. The chicken satay had a great peanut sauce to compliment the flavors. The burger was great, we did decided to add bacon and sweet potato fries. My friend tried the fried chicken sliders, which isn't my thing but..... It looked ok. The Brussels were amazing!!!! Get them!!! The food was good the service was great. My major complaint: I asked for a margarita. She gave me a premium without my knowledge. At $11 a pop I felt kind of gouged. I've come in many times for a margarita and was charged an appropriate $9. Maybe our server wanted to give me a superior product, maybe she wanted to make a little extra money..... At this point, I can't tell. Will come back and be more CLEAR.

Showed up at 7 pm on a Saturday. The place was pretty slow. Got seated and got our drinks just fine. We ordered bacon potato donut holes and Brussel sprouts for appetizers. My husband ordered a burger and I ordered their prime rib special. Doughnut holes were not good, the dipping sauce was very bland as we're the mashed potatoes with little bacon. The Brussel sprouts were fantastic, the fondue dipping sauce Put them over the top. The burger was average. It was marked on the menu as $13, but we got charged $20. The sweet potato fries were above average. The prime rib was tough and grisselly. The mashed potatoes were again bland. The broccillinni had a nice char on it, but no seasoning at all. The horseradish dipping sauce had barely and spice. We watched a table of 6 sit down 10 minutes after us, get all of their food 10 minutes before we did. They provided no salt or pepper on the table. The waitress seemed inattentive and aloof. We were truly disappointed. We were excited about the positive reviews, and we're very disappointed with our experience.

In Squaw Village, very convenient if you are skiing at Squaw. Dinner for party of 6 at 4pm on a friday took 45 minutes to get seated. There are two sections - the main area has a noisy, bar like atmosphere which is great for hanging out with friends. The second area is just tables, with lots of booths, quiet & great for groups with kids. They were out of certain things on themenu but the service was great given how swamped the staff were. Our food orders did not take kong, beverages were refilled promptly and overall service was very friendly. Chopped salads were ho-hum but presentation was good. Kids meals came with a lot of thick fries, the slider was well done to a brickette. Onion soup, Creme Bruless and the whiskey cocktails were the best items on our table.

Had lunch here yesterday! Everything was as delicious as the photos imply...would definitely come back here!

The food is pretty ok but service is sloooow and the hostess came to take two of our chairs that we were using--after finishing our food but while we were waiting for the check and well before we left--to take them to another table that didn't even need them. The Brussels fondue came with cold fondue twice. Potatoe donut holes were only ok. Beer was good though.

For $8, the kids' meal is good. The Fish taco and the sole sandwich are great. The Kobe slider is a big disappointment!

I like the set-up. A modern style bar with a cozy feel. Good assortment of alcohol selection. Beer selection could use some work to say the least. For happy hour the Prime Rib Sliders are pretty great. Bar staff is friendly. Great service.

Well. There really is not much choice okay. There's like only three places worth the stones they are built on. So just go in here and eat already. T

Busy little spot at the bottom of slopes in Squaw Valley Village. They have a full bar and a $13 salads with fresh ingredients. There is an indoor area and high tables inside. Easy to get in and out of in ski boots. The Chinese chicken salad is great and the kale chicken salad is tasty too. The spinache and steak salad looks good as well.

Tried this place twice in one day, both times the service was horrendous. When we came in for dinner the wait was 45 minutes, this was a good time for the area on a Friday night. We inquired about our table a few times and after an hour and a half they told us that they forgot about us. Then told us that the three empty tables next to where we were waiting were not a good option as the server needed a break as she had another large party. The staff was terrible both times we tried to dine there. We will never try again.

22 Bistro is a place one goes to dine once and then never again. That's because one either contracts food poisoning (in which case why go back?) or one can't believe how on earth one failed to contract food poisoning from such poor quality food. I guess I'll know which group I am in by tomorrow morning, having completed my one and only visit to 22 Bistro this evening.

Fish and chips were great! Everything we had was very good. Quality ingredients prepared well. They call it comfort food and I agree. Good simple tasting food and a good value for Squaw. The fifth star is for the value in this location.

We ordered a bunch of the social (aka share) plates - at least 1 of each so got a pretty broad sampling of 22 Bistro. Tuna Tower - only about 3-4 chips, curiously topped with whip cream on what is otherwise a savory dish. Way overpriced and very odd tasting. Chicken Satay - decent, but nothing special. Beef Sliders - VERY very salty, and only 2 come with the order. You're better off ordering the full size burger which is the same price but is a bigger serving. Truffled Brussles - nothing truffled about these sprouts... Sweet Potato Fries - tasty as always; serves about 1 per order. I'd come here in a pinch, but otherwise I wouldn't come back.

this is our favorite place for lunch when at squaw. They have nice wines by the glass and fresh yummy salads as well as burger type items. The french fries with dipping sauces are a fun calorie splurge. I get burger without a bun or an ahi or steak salad. I wish they would get gluten free bread or buns! If weather is decent it is great to sit outside and look up at the mountain. Service is always nice. I actually would give it 3.5 stars..

4 of us had burgers. The poor patties were thin and overcooked. For dessert two of us had peach cobbler with ice cream. But we couldn't tell if it was peach or apple or something else since it wasn't ripe either way. Plus one of them was barely warm enough. For appetizer we had the tuna tower and fondue. Both were good. Anyway, for little effort this place could be much better.

This rating is exclusively for the food. Yes, I'm shooting an accusatory stare at your Mr. Bartender. He's less attentive than an autistic boyfriend. Jeezsh. What's a girl gotta do to get a water refill?! Anyway food and location can't be beat. So many outdoor fire pits to relax by with friends after a long day on the slopes. I STRONGLY recommend the japapeno bacon mac 'n cheese. The potatoe "doughnuts" are interesting but lack flavor.

I'm not a fan of 22. The service is slow and clipped, and they're often out of what you want. Ask for something not on the menu and you've asked for the Spanish Inquisition. Sadly, there are not a lot of options in the village, and the outdoor seating deserves three stars, and is an option when Rocker is packed.

I love this place. It's near the lifts and it's a perfect way to start and end a day of shredding. (Well, you start buzzed if you stop by this place around lunchtime before you hit the slopes). The Tower 16 Tuna ($13) was so delicious. This is officially my fave at this spot. It was gone in literally minutes. Think of the best make out session of your life that ended in minutes...you wanna get more but you don't want to seem eager to shed your clothes. In this case, your wallet doesn't want to be too eager to shed some cash. The tuna was fresh (I was pleasantly surprised) and the wonton crisps were perfectly crispy. I loved the touch of sesame flavor in the dressing that they used for the tuna. I didn't love the price for the amount of tuna you get. Still, I highly recommend you try this for your appetizer. The burger was yummy. We asked for medium rare but they made it medium well. Despite that mishap, the flavor was still delicious. I wish the meat patty was a bit bigger. It's about the same size as a Jumbo Jack patty. I read "Kobe" on the menu so I expected a thicker and more tender burger patty. Yelper Sheeple recomendations were right: definitely get the burger with sweet potato fries. Somehow the fries mesh well with the flavor of the burger. I was also a big fan of the ketchup. Loverboy thinks it was too sweet but I liked the "homemade" taste to it. He preferred dipping the fries in their lemon aioli and ranch dressing. The bartenders were super efficient. I liked how they were chill and friendly. Both bartender ladies were cute too (in case you single boys are out for some eye candy after a nice day of riding the powpow or Cali-concrete). Food was served quickly. They checked on us a couple times and made sure my Diet Coke glass was never empty. They even let Loverboy change the channel so he can watch the NBA game. We will definitely be back. We just have to make sure our budget is on point because this place is pricey.

This place has a little bit to offer any given situation. It has a wide variety of healthy food that according to the menu is very sustainably grown. If you are health conscious this is a pretty good option especially when stacked up against the other restaurants in the area. I have been to this place many times but I generally like to go there after a long morning of skiing. The beer selection is great and the mid afternoon munchies are on point. My personal favorites: Tower 16 tuna Steak and noodle salad PBR Beer can chicken

After seeing the price of food at other parts we wanted to try somthing different. I walked in with a party of 6 and was seated in 5 mins. The waiter was super attentive and came by almost every 10 mins. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sando, which was actually really good. It sounded like a weird combo to me but turned out awesome! Also had the sweet potato fries which came with 3 different dipping sauses. Win? Yes sir! You know what else is a win? Their deep fried mashed potatoes balls! I think they are called doughnut holes. Yum! The portions could be a little bigger for the price, or lower for the portions they already serve, but over all satisfied customer!

Beautiful location! Not to mention the delicious gourmet lunch options! The jalapeño ketchup that's Served with the sweet potato fries, it's a delicacy not to miss, and the arugula panini with Brie and Apple is an amazing combination! And they have moscato! Definitely will be coming back.

Very disappointed in our meal last night. Probably right up there with the worst meal I have ever had! The social plarws were palatable, the tuna tower being the best. I ordered the Thai Shrimp noodle bowl and all could eat of it was the shrimp. The noodles, broth etc were tasteless. My boyfriends fish and chips were right out of the tasteless frozen food section! Yuck!

Worst fish and chips!!! Tasted like rubber. Probably a bad choice for lunch in squaw. Craft beers were cold and delicious. Helped wash down the fish.

I am being extremely generous by giving this place one star (it's the lowest rating I could give)...if there was a negative rating, I would be using that instead. It took at least 20-30 minutes before a waitress (Karen) even came by my table, and that was just for her to introduce herself as my waitress. By the time I finally placed my order (the seared ahi tuna salad) it was probably a good 45 minutes. The icing on the cake was when I actually received my food. The lettuce in the salad looked old and moldy...absolutely disgusting. Never in my life have I ever been served a salad that was this disgusting. Let's just say that I would have been better off going to McDonalds for my salad. I normally would have complained, but after seeing how slow the service was, it wasn't even worth it. At this point, I just picked through the salad and ate what looked edible, which was maybe a third of the salad. I will never come back here again. A total waste of my time and money. I'm still hungry after being served a rotten salad and will go somewhere else to eat. Anything is better than this place.

Had a great lunch here today! ahi poke on wontons, kale and beet salad with grilled chicken and chipotle fish tacos...so delicious!! Highly recommend...

Sweet potato fries were good and the 3 sauces that came with them were awesome. It made my burger taste much more flavorful. The burger itself with the added bacon wasn't anything special. And by added bacon, it was probably only one piece cut in half. One thing I loved was the 16 Tuna or something rather. Very flavorful, but for three small layers of it as a social platter for $14, quite pricey but splurge worthy. The waitress wasn't very helpful. And very misleading when it came to the portion sizes. She also was a little too casual with us, seeming very unprofessional. The restaurant itself was very dim. The most lit spot in the restaurant is their full bar. Which they don't have a menu for. The restaurant wasn't as good as I expected.

  • Duane R.

Quite possibly the best fish sandwich I've ever had. Don't think it's a regular on the menu but it's a must have. Crunchy Texas style toast, flaky grilled white fish and an awesome spread; perfection. We started with chicken satay that would give any Thai restaurant a run for their money. On the downside, the service leaves a lot to be desired.

Are you sick of the all the Squaw valley bars and restaurants smelling like Ben Gay and sweat? Don't enjoy hearing about how rad the guy next to you is holding a 40 and slurring his words? Do you enjoy great food prepared by a real chef for reasonable prices? Then stop wasting your money on Squaw Valley corporate "food". Last time I checked "nachos" had cheese on them. Not cheese wizz or chesse related product....I'm talking to you Plaza Bar. I digress. Bistro 22 has stood the test of time because of it's friendly staff, clean & fun atmosphere, and most importantly great food. Burgers and fries for 12 bucks, Tuna tower 14, Prawn noodle bowl 10....yum. This place is the perfect apres skiing spot with great people watching outside or just take a seat in the bar and enjoy a game on the many tvs. 22 is a step up from your average Squaw bar/restaurant. It is suitable for jeans and a t shirt, or date night at a window seat. It's so good I even drive from the City to eat here (Tahoe City).

We had the pleasure of being invited to a grooms dinner located at 22 Bistro. Even as a rather large group, our service was excellent and the food was outstanding. We loved the shared plates. Do not pass up the fondue. It will get a five year old to eat Brussels sprouts. We had a pasta dish that was huge and lovely chicken. Everyone had a blast!!

Having little snow in Squaw gave me the opportunity to hang out in the village more. The other day I spent the rainy day in 22 Bistro and enjoyed a great lunch. Their vegetarian option are filling and delicious (ask the server to sub veggies for meat). There's also a pretty decent cocktail menu. I ordered the "Side Stash", a refreshing aged rum drink.

Not too busy on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Service was relatively quick bur food was also okay not great. tight across from the slopes in squaw hence gets a lot if the skiers but there are other better places in the squaw village that are less expensive and serve better "hot" food. So be sure to check those out.

I had lunch here for a work team offsite. For appetizers, we had the white prawn lettuce wraps with citrus basil sauce, rice noodles, avocado, peanuts, cucumber, carrot and mint and a order of sweet potato fries. The lettuce wraps with shrimp and rice noodles were fresh and delish. I want to make these at home some time. For lunch I had the Kobe beef sliders appetizer, two sliders topped with gorgonzola cheese, caramelized onions and 22 sauce. The sliders were the perfect portion for me and loved the flavor of the gorgonzola cheese on top. Everything on their menu sounded delicious, and they had plenty of nice options to choose from.

Came here during our week stay and wish we would have tried this place earlier in the week as we probably would have gone a second time! Great service (minus the fact the waiter forgot one of our appetizer orders). Great kids menu with healthy options beyond the nuggets and fries option. We had everything from the hummus plater (so good)... Burger delicious! Brussels sprout fondue amazing! Honey mustard chicken sandwich delightful! Great atmosphere!

Due to the lack of runs open, I decided to go grab a beer instead. I found this little gem which I think used to be balboa years ago. Great place to grab a bloody, beer, or a bite while you sit on the front deck soaking up the gorgeous weather.

I just had a beers and sweet potato fries - which you must get. Three dipping sauces, need I say more? They have outdoor seating like most places. You can't sit here just to lounge but I did gawk at other people's yummy food. I saw some of the portions, they aren't hearty but they aren't as anemic as other people's looked. I guess if the meal doesn't have too many carbs you may feel hungry though.

Food is good, BUT customer service is a problem: poor orchestration, low attentiveness, and bad attitude ! I sat at the bar for 15 minutes before being asked for my order - when I expressed my frustration to the bartender girl she became mad at me.

    (1)
  • Reena R.

This place is good... just a little posh for my taste! We did appetizers and beer for 3 basically... and it ended up over $55 before tip. Food was good, limited beer choices (end of the season, right now). We had their beets and sweet potato fries - both tasted great. Loved the curry dipping sauce for the fries. Service was good, too. Would be nice for a special dinner, but apres ski snacks and beer... I would try elsewhere.

Service was TERRIBLE. We had a large party, took an hour to get our food, screwed up our order, then charged us for what we didn't order. It wasn't even that busy. The manager just stands there flipping channels. When I asked him for his help, he copped an attitude that he's not my waiter. Yes, obviously, you're the manager, and you need to f-ing help us after it took us 45 minutes to figure out why we were coming out under is because you OVERCHARGED us a drink and appetizer after your 10% "discount" for the terrible service. What a nightmare!

We hosted a dinner for 19 in the private room and then had a large group for drinks in the bar after. The whole experience was great!. RJ, the manager, was easy to work with and flexible about requests. Our server Josh took care of the entire meal service efficiently. The food was delicious, people especially enjoyed the potato-bacon "donut-holes". I highly recommend this restaurant.

Ordered the braised short rib, which was absolutely delicious. The meat fell right off the bone. The mac n cheese was also good. Wasn't the hugest fan of the corn succotash. Other than poor dining arrangements, the booth seat was way below the table height, making eating slightly uncomfortable -- it was a good place.

This Review is for The Slot because 1. I did not find it on Yelp and 2. we all know that 22 gets 5 stars. When all the families are drinking their hot totties the others are at the slot. taking shotskis, drinking tiny mickeys, pbr's, and PRARIE FIRES. Come here to wind down or get geared up to pass out at 9pm so you can have 1st chair at kt. These guys do it right, treat their patrons like family and have a damn great establishment.

I'm always amused by the concept of New American. As far as I've seen, what it really means is "Everything Fusion," and 22 is no different. From British to Thai, American to Mediterranean, its choices really run the gamut. Rather than splurge on one of the pricey entrees, my boyfriend and I decided to go for a selection of appetizers: the thai noodle soup, sweet potato fries and chicken satay. The latter two were definitely winners (mmmm, creamy coconut satay sauce!), but the first was a little disappointing in terms of both price and size. C'mon, for $13, I expect more than 3 lonely prawns and limp udon noodles! Bottom line: as restaurants in the Village go, 22 is probably the best. Come for the chill ambiance and sweet music, and stay for the good grub.

This is a cool spot to grab lunch. They offer a bunch of social plates to share. The fried rice covered fried shrimps with chili dipping sauce was good. The donut holes, not so much. I'd skip those. Get the sweet potato fries! Love the jalepeno ketcup. For my entree, I chose a steak udon noodle salad which was light and refreshing. The rest of the party ordered burgers and they all seemed to enjoy them.

Pros: Our server was great. She was friendly and efficient. Cons: Weakest poured cocktails I've seen in awhile and the food is way overpriced. I don't mind spending more for a quality meal, but there has to be VALUE and QUALITY. My wife and I each got a drink before dinner, then I ordered a burger and she got a salad with salmon. The food was marginal, burger was just ok as was the salad. Then we received our check, which was $54 including an extra $5 for taxes and resort fees. When I spend $61 on dinner (including tip), I usually get much more VALUE and QUALITY for my money. This restaurant was a major disappointment on our first night of vacation, they know they have a captive audience here at the village and are taking advantage of that. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

Pretty good food. Service was a little less than expected, though not bad. Location is ideal. * Tower 16 Tuna was delicious. I highly recommend this dish. * Sweet potato fries with three dipping sauces are very good. Mustard sauce was overpowered by curry, but jalepeno ketchup was perfect. * We had jalepeno-bacon mac'n cheese last time we were here and it was very good. This has been changed to plain old mac'n cheese, which was a huge disappointment. When we asked afterwords, the server informed us that jalepeno-bacon could still be ordered off the menu. * The grilled cheese with brie and fuji apple was very good. * Steak and fries were good, but a little over-seasoned. * Kid's menu has good selections, and is nicely priced. * Service was okay. We did not see our server for long stretches of time even though it was not overly busy, and she did not check whether everything was okay until we were nearly done with our meal.

Conveniently located near the cental area of the ski resort with friendly and fast service. I rated it three stars because really the food was mediocre. Not terrible, just average. I had the mac and cheese which was a small, but filling portion. It tasted okay, but need a little something. I ended up adding my own flavors so that it would taste better (salt, pepper and tons of parmesan cheese). My friend had a burger with chips (chips!? Where were the fries?? Okay, I wanted one, but still) and the burger meat didn't look very appealing. It reminded me of fast food. eww. Overall a cool place to chill if you aren't hitting the slopes, but left more to be desired foodwise.

Ate here today for a late lunch. We walked around the Village at Squaw and checked all the menus - this place won out for the day. Although I think it's because they had $5.00 Sangria today :) A friend and I shared the Ahi tuna BLT and a side of macaroni and cheese. Both were yummy. I preferred the mac & cheese - quite delicious. Another friend got the burger and said it was very good. My husband also got the Ahi tuna BLT and said it was good but that he preferred the one at The Plumpjack Cafe. But they had many things on their menu that I would try on other visits. The appetizer menu was chock full of nummy-looking things! We sat outside as we had our 2 dogs with us. Our view was of the mountain - very pretty and relaxing. Another plus is that their prices were very reasonable. The waitress also brought over some water for the buds (and us too!) without being asked. The best part was that our waitress said they had an over-cooked burger patty from someone's order and offered to us for the dogs. She brought it out cut in half on 2 plates. The buds were SO happy. They vote to eat here every weekend :) So for food I would probably go 3 - 3.5 stars but the extra attention given to my dogs puts them into 4 territory for sure :)

First impression was good. The place has a great ambiance for nice night out right at the base of the mountain. The menu has a good selection of items. The food was good but nothing too special. Where this place really lacks is the service and prices. The waiter we had continually forgot about us and our overpriced meal. Last impression not so good. If we are going to pay for good food, we expect service that's at least up to par.

We were here this past SAT on what had to be the nicest day of the year. We were looking for a bite, and the menu looked to fit the bill just fine. We had a late lunch and were all starving, so we loaded up (on too many) apps. We had the poke stack ( I was stuffing my face with other stuff, so I didn't try it) but the wife and kids liked it. The crab nachos were lite and tasty, and the bacon doughnut holes were simply amazing (not to mention you could get a pint of PBR and an order of them on special for $7 I think). I had the Thai shrimp soup bowl that was great - the soup very flavorful and the shrimp were done to perfection. My brother had the jalapeno mac, which he said was good. My wife had the risotto, which I thought was just OK (mine is better!). One kid had the chicken strips (standard, but pretty good) and the other had the slider (also standard but good). The only drawback was it was on the pricey side, or maybe it all just added up - I think we dropped a buck 20 for lunch for 3 adults, 2 kids, but I guess I should expect that for Squaw. I'd go back.

Earlier this month, I visited Squaw Valley for the first time. The resort was excellent, albeit a bit crowded, and we were very impressed with the apres-ski activities. The whole place is very dog friendly, which was a pleasant surprise even if my dogs were still back in Houston. We had planned to stay for a quick drink before heading back to our condo on the Nevada side, but we were getting pretty hungry, so we decided to try 22 Bistro. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is relatively upscale without coming across as pretentious, which works well because most of the guests have windburn and helmet hair. Everyone loved their food. I had the salmon, which tends to be a staple for me. The fish itself was cooked to perfection and the butternut squash was fantastic. My friends liked their burgers and meatloaf as well. We also ordered the sweet potato fries as an appetizer, and I would recommend them to anyone. Even my friend who never eats them was raving about how good they were. And I'm not sure if I was just starving, but I'm pretty sure the ketchup was the best I've ever tasted. They also had a couple other dipping sauces for the more gourmet palate.

It was better than expected. The burger and the fries were very good . The thai soup was pretty good: nicely spicy. four large shrimp in it. The chicken sandwich was terribly bland and the tuna tower was bad: the raw tuna was so-so and the whole thing was cloyingly sweet. Our waitress was nicely sweet.

Excellent place for apres skiing drinks and yummy bites.. the tuna tower is amazing.. Sweet potato fries, the best!! Not sure I loved the crab nachos - they were ok.. Bartender wasn't very friendly so my 4 stars is only for the food! mmm going back for lunch today!

It's hard to expect good food at ski resort villages, especially at a good price. Twenty-two meets one of those expectations. The food was pretty good and "gourmet" compared to what you would usually find at places like this. However, for the amount of food you get, the portions are not very generous. After a day of boarding, I want to chow down, as I have not really eaten much all day (why waste the money I paid for a lift ticket eating away, when I can store snacks in my pocket and board all day?!?!), but instead of the usual pizza or pub food, this place looked like a nice change. I was right about the change, as the menu was fancier than I was accustomed to seeing, but for the prices of an entree, which average around $20, I was expecting a little bit more food. We tried the shrimp tostadas for an appetizer, which were $9 for 3 small tortillas with barely any shrimp and a lot of cole slaw. Rip off. Skip this. I had the bison meatloaf as my entree, which was good, but the piece of meatloaf was about the size of 2 brownies and barely made a dent in my stomach. It was servied with diced root veggies and mashed potatoes. The dish was good, but not enough! My friend had the jalapeno bacon mac and cheese, which was probably one of their better items since every busboy that came by with water or to pick up our plates asked him about it and said it was their fave. haha. It was delicious, I admit. Not too cheesy, with a hint of spiciness and decent size bits of bacon. It was a bit rich so I could see how it was a side item, but somehow my buddy finished the entire plate. Possibly because skiing/boarding all day causes massive hunger? haha. I dont know if I would come back here again unless I was not starving to death. The other restaurants in the village dont seem that great either, but I guess beggars cant be choosers.

Nice mixture of items on the menu. Consistently good food, nice portions and value for the money. Beer and wine selection pretty much has what you want for a quick drop in.

Just went back for the first time in a year and the bacon doughnut holes did not disappoint. I also want to commend the menu, it is full of comfort food with a healthy and gourmet twist which fits apres ski perfectly. The bar was over crowded with NFL watchers, but they sat us immediately in the back and we got great service.

Sat outside, atmosphere was great, service was good also. Tried the apple and Brie grilled cheese and it was fair at best. Very little cheese, and one large chunk of apple. The sandwich was mainly filled with greens. Maybe I didn't read the menu clearly but I wasn't expecting a grilled greens sandwich. Very disappointing how poorly they executed the sandwich.

Poor service. I came here with my husband and my 10 month old son. They seated us and brought us a high chair and we sat for 15 mins or longer looking at the menu waiting for someone to take our drink order. I don't think it should have taken as long as it did for someone to come by. While we were waiting, the table behind us complained to the wait staff and they were promptly served but no one said ANYTHING to us. No one ever showed up and by this time my baby was not happy so we got up and left.

Great place... awesome food, wonderful service! Amy(not sure of spelling) was our waitress and she was AWESOME! I would go back most definitely (especially for the mashed potato bacon donut holes with gravy dipping sauce- LEGIT!)

Bistro is like a beacon of goodness in the sea of corporate cuisine that pretty much haunts most of Squaw. Solid food and drink, even better people. Do yourself a favor and skip the slop at Gold Coast or High Camp and make your way down for lunch or apres!

Lunch: 3 stars Twenty-Two bistro is conveniently located on the base of the mountain and since we were staying at the Villages at Squaw we stopped in on our way back to our room. At first I didn't care for the inside decor of this restaurant and wasn't too impressed by this new bistro. The hostess was flustered at lunch although the place wasn't balls to the walls packed. It was a beautiful day out and a crappy day to be on the slopes (way too icy) so we thought we would take a lounging lunch. The menu is not centrally themed but is pretty global and will catch you by surprise. Their Asian-esque salad with steak and noodles stood out which consisted of udon noodles, steak, mango, avocado, peanuts mixed with a hint of basil and mint. A little too much going on for me but I saw a handful of people ordering this interesting ensalada. I saw the Cuban Sandwich which had the basics with ham, swiss cheese and pickles but the Kurobuta pork caught my attention so I gave it a whirl. You have the option to get a side of salad or homemade chips and I opted for the chips. Not bad. One of my friends ordered the Cobb (I think) and it didn't look out of the ordinary. It was served with a Lemon-Thyme Vinaigrette. My other friend also ordered the Cuban Sandwich and loved it. I thought it was "ok" as one of my favorite restaurant when I lived in Denver was Cuba Cuba where they bread was flown in from Miami (close enough to Cuba). So apparently I'm picky when it comes to Cuban Sandwiches. I was however a huge fan of the Sweet Potato Fries which were served with 3 different dipping sauces. One curry based, Jalapeno infused Ketchup and one creamy looking Aioli. The fries were thin and fried to perfection. Definitely the highlight of our meal. Apres Ski: 3 stars We stopped in for a few drinks around 4pm and this place was one of the more happening spots. Le Chamois was packed with a young beer drinking crowd but Twenty-Two was more my style, older crowd pounding shots, Irish Coffees, Hot Toddies and downing Lemon Drops. Lemon drops were a bit on the sweeter side but I tried the Patron Margarita my friend ordered and it was nice. The house Chardonnay (4 Bears) was surprisingly tasty - a refreshing buttery Chard. I would definitely go back just to try the Potato Bacon Donut Holes. Overall Chef Billy McCullough (who is on board with the Slow Food Movement) has created a solid and interesting menu which will keep customers content. I recommend sitting outside on a nice day as the high bar tables are not very comfortable when you have your ski boots on (they also have semi-booth like sitting too).

A great apres spot! Right in the village at Squaw, great beers and food at a great price, ESPECIALLY for a world class resort.

I walked in there with my gf one snowy evening. The hostess was eating her dinner and we were standing there for an awkward moment which made us think people seat themselves. So we walked over to an open area of tables and some other girl walked up with menus. She asked "Do you guys have a party of more than 5?" We said "no". "Then let me seat you" she said. (A little snooty are we?) She ended up seating us at a tiny table in a corridor. It's whatever. I didn't let that bother me and I understand that most of the locals are hippies. So we looked at our menus and ordered. The time it took was a little longer than usual but no biggie. I ordered a vodka pineapple and my gf ordered a mai tai. When the drinks came, I tasted it after the waiter left and it was disgusting. I was cool about it though, when the waiter came back I asked if they were out of pineapple or something because it tasted like really sour orange juice. The waiter said "you ordered grapefruit and vodka". I said "no, I asked for pineapple and vodka". My gf even repeated it to him when she ordered her mai tai. The waiter stood there for a moment perplexed and then took my drink away. WTF?! First of all, who the hell orders grapefruit and vodka that is just nasty. Second, why the hell are you going to argue with me about what I ordered? Its not that hard making a pineapple vodka. The food is incredibly overpriced. The portions are small. We got our check and there was like an extra $6 in resort fees and federal taxes on top of sales tax. WTF?! They never charged us any of that at the other restaurants at the village. Whatever, horrible experience, never coming back.

Kobe beef burger and sweet potato fries......UH-mazing!!! I also loved the setup of this place. My friend and I came to check out 22 after a friend recommended it and it was fabulous!! We sat at the bar for lunch and both ordered burgers. Everything looked so good we had a tough time deciding so we threw in the hummus and the dough nut holes....mmmm yummy. The staff was friendly and welcoming but the bartender was great! I believe his name was Brent....he makes an amazing cocktail! This was a wonderful experience and I will most definitely be coming back!!

OMG, this place was really good and I wasn't expecting it to be! The menu was decent, but my boyfriend and I split the thai lettuce rolls (amazing!) and the bacon cheeseburger -- the meat on the burger was juicy and delicious and the bun was toasted perfection. Now, I only do bacon cheeseburgers every now and then, but this one was oh so worth it. We also had the fries which were incredible, no exaggeration probably the best I've ever had. That topped with the different mayos, including a chipotle ketchup, aglio olio and curry mayo were a creative touch to an otherwise straightforward dish. The lettuce rolls were really spectacular, definitely try them!

My experience has been that food at ski resorts is generally poor quality. I was pleasantly surprised by 22. The food was tasty, creative and well presented. The service was good as was the general vibe of the place. The prices were fair given what you get and the location in a major ski resort.

Sweet potato fries were ah-mazing! I'm salavating just thinking about them. We tried everything on the "social plates" portion of the menu and it was all really good, especially the lemongrass lettuce wraps, YUM! I would definitely come back here- great place for drinks too!

Came in with a few girlfriends for drinks and appetizers. Nice ambience and good food and drinks. The bartenders were all really nice. Loved the steak lettuce wraps and polenta sticks. Can't wait to come back for dinner on my next visit!

After an epic day of boarding at Squaw Valley, Twenty-Two Bistro was a hit. I usually don't like sweet potato, but the fries were delicious. I also ordered the kobe beef sliders, very tasty. It wasn't too busy, yet the waitress seemed to overlook our table. I was about to walk out of the patio area when she finally took our order.I'll give it another chance the next time I go boarding.

Went for dinner at twenty two to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. The service was fantastic. Our waitress Dana was super friendly, very knowledgable about the food and drinks menu. Even though sport was showing on the tv, volume was quite low in the dining area so still could talk to ya friends. Food came out quickly and was very delicious. I recommend ordering from the social plates so you can try a bit of everything. The potato donut holes were yum. So was the tuna tostada, beetroot feta salad and the apple cheesecake dessert. We will be back there again!!

My Boyfriend and I ate here for dinner on our last night at Squaw Valley. After the meal, we both wished we had gone there earlier in the trip. We would have definitely gone more than once and will most definitely go back. Our dinner was wonderful. The Bistro uses fresh & local ingredients... from farm to table. The menu was delightfully unique specializing in small plates to share. For starters, we ordered the Plantain chips with Avocado Salsa and the Mushroom risotto cakes. Both were yummy. The Risotto cakes were especially sinful. The main course, we ordered the Crab Cake Sliders and the Kobe style beef Sliders. The crab was very fresh and perfectly seasoned... not too much bread. My Boyfriend loved the Beef sliders. Both were served with a delicious sauce and fresh greens. We also had an order of the green beans, which were perfectly crisp and buttery. After dinner, we bellied up to the bar for some drinks. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and a full liquor bar. If you go for a drink, make sure to chat with Jon the Bartender. He's a very cool guy and is always up for good conversation. Hope you check it out and agree.

A pretty terrible snow season is certainly a challenge for effective staffing at a ski resort. Over President's weekend this year we found Bistro 22 to have tons of vacant tables with no ability to seat them. The result was ambiguous answers from the hostess as to their ability to have my me, my wife and two kids in chairs at a table even though there was clearly tons of availability. Nevetherless, they didn't fuss when we just selected an empty table in a busy area being serviced by a waiter. These kids (sorry, young adults) are just trying to make a living at Squaw in exchange for a pass to the mountain. I don't hold the lack of coordinated service against them. For all the lack of any apparent management, everyone seemed relatively nice. My note is primarily meant to serve as a warning over one item on the menu, The chili con carne is delicious. Yet it also twisted my guts for about 12 hours each time I ate it (twice). Just be careful. Maybe it's just me, but the pain and extended periods on the can are not worth the tasty, tiny, overpriced bowl of chili. Best of luck......

It may be pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. My family and I had lunch here while skiing on the mountain. They sat us right away. The kids all found things on the menu they loved. But the best part had to be the mini kobe beef burgers with sweet potato fries. Definitely something to return for and we were craving them when we wound up at the typical ski resort cafeteria the following day. Twenty-two is a great feature in the Village!
